Don Nelson, Hall of Fame coach and five-time NBA champion as a player, dies at 86

NBA Hall of Famer Don Nelson, a five-time champion as a player and three-time Coach of the Year, has died at 86, his family said. Nelson won five titles with the Boston Celtics and later became the NBA’s second-winningest regular-season coach, recording 1,335 victories during a 31-year coaching career.
