Filmmaker Shakeel Noorani arrested after aspiring actor alleges rape

Mumbai Police arrested filmmaker Shakeel Noorani after an actor accused him of rape. The 73-year-old filmmaker was found at his Mahabaleshwar farmhouse hiding. The woman alleged sexual assault and poisoning over four years leading to a miscarriage. Noorani allegedly threatened to circulate an intimate video if she reported him. He was remanded to police custody until August 12.
