In a major change to India’s corporate governance, the regulatory framework is set to redefine "control" with reference to the business and investment regime. The previous construct of foreign owned and controlled companies is being phased out in favour of defining foreign controlled entities. The approach is set to shift from a one-size-fits-all test to a more context-sensitive evaluation.
