Kanpur raid uncovers fake turmeric made from rice, Rs 5.8 lakh stock seized

Food safety officials raided Pitambara Enterprises in Kanpur on Tuesday. They discovered turmeric powder was made using ground rice and artificial colors. The authorities seized stock valued at over five lakh rupees. Operations at the unit were prohibited and its license was suspended. Samples were collected for laboratory testing to confirm adulteration.
