Chewing gum that targets cancer-linked oral bacteria: Researchers developed bioengineered chewing gum targeting head and neck cancer microbes. This gum significantly reduced human papillomavirus levels in laboratory tests. Harmful bacterial species were also brought down to almost zero levels. The treatment did not harm beneficial oral bacteria found in the mouth.
