Kentucky child killer walks free as family says justice failed despite years of legal fights

The Kentucky father whose 6-year-old son was stabbed to death while sleeping says the man found not guilty by reason of insanity in the killing received "a slap on the wrist" after being released from prison July 29 upon completing his sentence for assaulting three surviving family members.

Ronald Exantus was released from Kentucky Department of Corrections custody July 29 after completing the sentence imposed for assaulting Logan Tipton's father and sisters during the 2015 home invasion that left the 6-year-old dead.
