Johnson & Johnson proposes $5.5 billion talc settlement to end marathon legal fight

Johnson & Johnson will pay $5.5 billion to resolve ovarian cancer claims. This settlement requires participation from at least ninety-five percent of claimants. The company previously settled most mesothelioma and consumer protection lawsuits. An initial payment of up to $3 billion is due next year. Further payments are not expected until 2028.
