Iran hangs two anti-government protesters in public

Iran publicly executed two men convicted of violent attacks during protests. Abolfazl Sepahi and Amir-Hossein Safari were found guilty of assaulting police officers. They were accused of charges including waging war against God and spreading fear. These executions occurred in Malekshahr, central Isfahan province, following recent unrest. Iran carries out the world's second-highest number of executions annually.
