India imports 25 lakh tonne of urea, 7 lakh tons of DAP in Apr-Jun to meet domestic demand: Govt
India imported significant urea and DAP quantities during April-June this fiscal. Total fertiliser production reached 115.72 lakh tonnes in the first quarter. The government actively diversifies import sources to mitigate supply chain risks. Long-term agreements are finalised with Saudi Arabian and Russian companies for DAP. Indian companies are sourcing water-soluble fertilisers from alternative global suppliers.
