Sikkim tunnel blast tragedy: NHPC announces Rs 5 lakh compensation to family of each deceased

NHPC announced Rs 5 lakh compensation for each deceased worker in a Sikkim tunnel blast. The explosion at the Teesta Stage-VI hydro power plant killed at least twenty workers. Rescue operations are continuing round-the-clock for the remaining trapped personnel. Thirteen bodies have been retrieved so far from the collapsed tunnel. NHPC expressed profound grief and extended condolences to the bereaved families.
