LNG consumption declines 6.5%on costly import, lower output

India's natural gas usage saw a notable drop during the April to June quarter, attributed to soaring global LNG prices and a decline in local production. Import volumes decreased significantly as the elevated spot prices rendered them inaccessible for numerous clients. Furthermore, domestic output faced challenges due to reduced activity in crucial fields, while the Iran conflict further strained supplies, forcing reliance on costly alternatives.
