Vande Bharat sleeper trains' rollout delayed as designs await approval

The rollout of 120 Vande Bharat sleeper trains by Indo-Russian joint venture Kinet Railway Solutions has been delayed as final train designs are yet to be approved. With the prototype now expected only by the end of 2026, Indian Railways has turned to its own manufacturing units to accelerate sleeper coach production.
