4 students among 5 dead as train hits school van

A train struck a school van and bicycle at a West Bengal level crossing. Five people, including four children and a cyclist, tragically lost their lives. The railway ministry announced ₹10 lakh ex-gratia, and the state government will provide ₹5 lakh. The railway gateman has been arrested following the incident near Karnasubarna station. Injured children and the van driver are receiving treatment at a local hospital.
