Aamir Khan stated his "3 Idiots" character is not based on Sonam Wangchuk. He called the connection a misconception and expressed concern for Wangchuk's health. Wangchuk is currently on an indefinite hunger strike protesting India's education system. His health has deteriorated, losing over nine kilograms since starting the fast.
