Seat booking amount not returned despite student joining another college: Engineering college in Kerala ordered to pay Rs 43,000 for 3 years refund delay

A Kerala consumer commission has ordered Mangalam College of Engineering in Kottayam to refund Rs 30,000 in seat booking fees to a student's mother, along with Rs 10,000 in compensation and Rs 3,000 in litigation costs. The college had refused to return the deposit even after the student secured a merit-based seat at TKM Engineering College, Kollam.
