Actress-turned-politician Koel Mallick has resigned from the Rajya Sabha after a short tenure. This development follows Madan Mitra's resignation from all Trinamool Congress posts yesterday. Mitra, an MLA, joined a rebel faction citing ineffectiveness within the party. He alleged leadership focused on Abhishek Banerjee instead of organizational strength. Mallick submitted her resignation to Rajya Sabha Chairman CP Radhakrishnan.
