Renewable energy developers get one-time exit for unused grid connectivity
The power sector regulator has introduced a new framework for renewable energy projects. Developers can now surrender, transfer, or retain unused interstate transmission connectivity. This move aims to free up grid capacity for projects ready for commissioning. The regulator estimates 15.7 GW of connectivity could be released through this initiative. Developers retaining connectivity without a PPA must furnish a bank guarantee and commission projects within 24 months.
