500 hanger cables replaced on iconic Godavari bow string arch railway bridge in Andhra

South Coast Railway has achieved a major feat, replacing 500 of 672 corroded hanger cables on the historic Godavari Bow String Arch Railway Bridge. This complex rehabilitation, done without halting train traffic, utilizes advanced corrosion-resistant materials and international expertise. A state-of-the-art monitoring system with over 272 sensors is also in place to ensure the bridge's long-term safety and reliability.
