Govt to upgrade rice quality for public distribution

In a significant move to enhance food security, the government has decided to improve the quality of rice distributed to over 80 crore citizens via ration shops. The percentage of broken rice in supplies has been substantially reduced for both raw and par-boiled varieties. This historic upgrade, the first in nearly three decades, ensures better quality food with dignity for beneficiaries, while efficiently utilising procured grains.
