Karnataka pitches coach depot for Vijayapura to boost rail connectivity

Karnataka Industries Minister MB Patil has proposed a coach depot and an additional entry/exit gate for Vijayapura railway station to enhance rail connectivity. Discussions were held with Union Minister V Somanna, and letters sent to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The former goods shed land is earmarked for the depot, aiming to create a maintenance hub and boost train operations for North Karnataka, including the upcoming Bengaluru-Vijayapura Vande Bharat Express.
