Delhi govt notifies EV policy, offers tax exemption for electric cars priced up to Rs 30 lakh

Delhi has unveiled its Electric Vehicles Policy 2026, aiming to boost EV adoption and improve air quality. Effective July 1, 2026, electric cars under Rs 30 lakh will enjoy full road tax and registration fee exemptions. The policy also mandates electric auto-rickshaw registrations from January 2027 and phases out petrol/CNG two-wheeler registrations by April 2028, offering subsidies for e-two-wheelers.
