Delayed southwest monsoon enters Gujarat, conditions favourable for further advance

Gujarat welcomed the southwest monsoon on Wednesday, with its arrival reaching Surat. While southern regions experienced rainfall, northern areas and Saurashtra saw a surge in temperatures, with Gandhinagar and Rajkot hitting 40.5°C. The IMD forecasts heavy showers in parts of south Gujarat within 24 hours, alongside moderate thunderstorms. Monsoon's progress into Gujarat is later than usual this year, with further advancement expected.
