Romanian president nominates new candidate for prime minister

Romania's President Nicusor Dan has appointed Adrian Vestea as prime minister after independent candidate Eugen Tomac withdrew. Vestea, a liberal party member and Brasov county council president, will now attempt to form a political government to end a crisis that has impacted policymaking and the economy. He has 10 days to secure a parliamentary vote of confidence.
