Assam tightens Aadhaar card rules to curb infiltration

Assam's government has decided to stop issuing Aadhaar cards to individuals over 18 years old. This measure aims to prevent illegal immigrants from obtaining the documents. Exceptions are made for persons with disabilities, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Tea Garden communities until March 2027. The restriction does not apply to those under 18.
