Assam brings in MGR for liquor licences; prices likely to rise from July 1

Assam's excise laws have been amended. A new provision, Minimum Guaranteed Revenue, will be introduced for liquor license holders. This will be an additional charge on top of existing fees and VAT. Liquor prices are expected to increase by seven to twelve percent. These new prices will be effective from July 1.
