Rajya Sabha Chairman accepts TMC MP Sukhendu Sekhar Ray's resignation

Rajya Sabha Chairman C P Radhakrishnan accepted the resignation of TMC member Sukhendu Sekhar Ray. His seat from West Bengal is now vacant. Ray stated he resigned in principle from the party due to rampant corruption. This development follows a rebellion within the party's legislature wing in West Bengal. The resignation comes ahead of an INDIA bloc meeting.
