Dead insect in biriyani: Court orders restaurant to provide 10 free biriyanis and Rs 10,000 compensation

A Puducherry restaurant was held liable for serving contaminated food after a dead insect was discovered in a biriyani plate. The consumer commission ordered the eatery to pay Rs 10,000 compensation and Rs 3,000 for litigation costs. Additionally, the restaurant must provide the customer with 10 free plates of biriyani, served over five weeks.
