On World Environment Day 2026, it is only rightful to remember Satish Bhaskar who dedicated decades of his life to understanding and protecting India's sea turtles, often working alone on remote coastlines and islands. Long before GPS and modern tracking tools, he walked thousands of kilometres documenting nesting sites that would later become the foundation of sea turtle conservation efforts in the country.
