Washington archdiocese removes exorcist after UFO comments spark controversy
A controversy within the Catholic Church emerged after Monsignor Stephen Rossetti, a longtime exorcist in the Archdiocese of Washington, suggested in an online video that many UFO sightings could be connected to demonic activity. Cardinal Robert McElroy subsequently removed Rossetti from his role as an archdiocesan exorcist and ended the archdiocese's affiliation with the St. Michael Center for Spiritual Renewal, which Rossetti leads.
