India names Neelkanth Mishra as executive director at World Bank

Economist Neelkanth Mishra has been appointed as India's executive director at the World Bank Group, succeeding Parameswaran Iyer. Mishra, a former part-time member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council and chief economist at Axis Bank, will serve a three-year term. His role also encompasses representing Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka at the international financial institution.
