CCPA imposes Rs 7 lakh penalty for misleading claims relating to UPSC civil services examination results

The Central Consumer Protection Authority has fined Vajiram and Ravi IAS Study Centre Rs 7 lakh. The coaching institute published misleading advertisements about candidate success in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. They failed to disclose that many top rankers only used their free Interview Guidance Programme. This practice misled students about the effectiveness of full coaching courses.
