Karnataka: CM Siddaramaiah says 60% hike in minimum wages will protect workers

Karnataka has significantly boosted minimum wages by an average of 60 percent. This move benefits workers across more than 83 scheduled occupations. The government has also simplified wage zones from four to three. Unskilled workers in Zone III will now earn up to Rs 19,300 monthly. Bengaluru sees unskilled workers receiving Rs 23,376. Gender wage gaps have been eliminated.
