Ebola watch: Health Ministry directs states, UTs to bolster surveillance

India is enhancing its readiness for Ebola. The Union Health Ministry has directed states to boost surveillance and hospital preparedness. This action follows the WHO's declaration of the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda as a public health emergency. Screening of international travellers is also being intensified.
