Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma takes oath as MLA in new Assembly

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took oath as an MLA on the first day of the new assembly. He swore allegiance in the Assamese language. Other MLAs also took their oaths in various recognized languages. The NDA coalition secured a significant victory in the recent assembly polls. The BJP-led alliance won a substantial majority in the 126-member house.
