Govt directs collectors to form highway safety task forces

In a bid to curb rising road accidents, Odisha's district collectors are forming dedicated highway safety task forces. These eight-member teams, chaired by collectors and co-chaired by SPs, will tackle encroachments, illegal parking, and infrastructure gaps on national highways. Fortnightly reviews and monthly reports will ensure compliance with Supreme Court directives, aiming to make roads safer for everyone.
