Alibaba unveils new AI chip in push for domestic alternatives

Alibaba has launched its new Zhenwu M890 AI chip, offering triple the performance of its previous model. This development is part of China's push for domestic AI alternatives amid US export restrictions. The company also revealed a future roadmap with V900 and J900 chips planned for 2027 and 2028 respectively. This signifies Alibaba's commitment to advancing its in-house silicon capabilities.
