Deserted by society, leprosy-stricken women find ‘mother’ in city woman

Chhanda Rani Panda, a government employee from Bhubaneswar, has become a maternal figure to the inmates of a leprosy colony at Janla. For the past four years, she has been providing them with 'Sabitri Saja' – sarees, bangles, vermilion, and fruits – for Sabitri Puja, ensuring they feel loved and included.
