Equity mutual fund inflows declined 5% to Rs 38,440 crore in April, though most equity categories continued to attract investments. Flexicap funds recorded their highest-ever monthly inflow, while smallcap and midcap funds also saw strong traction. Meanwhile, sectoral and thematic fund inflows moderated, reflecting increasing investor selectivity amid volatile market conditions.
