Meeting annual targets doesn't guarantee job security in the private sector. Labour laws, particularly the Industrial Disputes Act, offer protections for 'workmen' against unfair retrenchment, including the Last In, First Out principle. Managers, however, have weaker protections, with wrongful termination claims often being contractual and focusing on discrimination or policy violations.
