Some 1,500 ships trapped in Gulf due to Iran conflict: IMO

Approximately 1,500 ships and 20,000 crew members are trapped in the Gulf due to an Iranian blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, following a war initiated by Israel and the US against Iran. The International Maritime Organization chief highlighted the dire situation for innocent sailors and urged avoiding the region to prevent further casualties and economic losses.
