Iran Claims Responsibility for Downing Two U.S. Warplanes
Iranian officials and state-aligned media said the country’s forces had downed two U.S. military aircraft, prompting public celebrations in some areas as the conflict with Washington and Israel intensified further. Reports said an F-15E Strike Eagle was shot down over southwestern Iran, while a second American aircraft went down in the Gulf region.
According to Reuters, one U.S. crew member from the F-15E was rescued, while another remained missing, with Iranian forces and local volunteers searching the crash zone.
