Jessica Simpson is setting the record straight on an old rumor.

The 45-year-old singer and actress was asked about the story claiming she spent $1,000 a week on tanning as part of a million-dollar beauty routine.

“No, $1,000? Gosh. I’d rather have lain out in the sun,” Jessica told Elle in a new interview published Thursday (April 2).

However, she admitted it might depend on if you factored in going on vacation with the budget, like when she was filming The Dukes of Hazzard.
