‘I didn’t mean to take a stance’ – Roberto De Zerbi directly addresses Tottenham fans about Mason Greenwood comments

Roberto De Zerbi has directly addressed his controversial comments regarding Mason Greenwood after some Tottenham fans expressed concerns about the new Spurs boss’s character.

Greenwood, who was arrested in 2020 on suspicion of rape and assault, only for the charges to be dropped in 2023, was signed by Marseille after De Zerbi had taken charge of the French club.

The Tottenham boss appeared to defend Greenwood last year, calling him “a good guy” and insisting that he paid “a very heavy price for his mistakes”.
