Controlled explosion at Akrotiri bases no cause for concern, police say

A small, controlled explosion is expected to take place on Thursday morning in the area of the British bases at Akrotiri, police said, stressing there is no reason for public concern.

In a post on X, police said they had been informed by the British Bases that the explosion is scheduled to occur between 10:30am and 11:00am.
