President Donald Trump claimed on Tuesday that Iranian leadership had “just asked” the United States for a ceasefire in the ongoing U.S. war against Iran, celebrating the news in a statement shared on social media, while also issuing Tehran a grave threat.

“Iran’s New Regime President, much less Radicalized and far more intelligent than his predecessors, has just asked the United States of America for a CEASEFIRE!” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “We will consider when Hormuz Strait is open, free, and clear.
