SC raps Centre for unnecessary appeal in CISF dismissal case, imposes ₹25,000 cost

The Central government faced a setback as the Supreme Court levied a Rs 25,000 fine for pursuing a needless appeal against a High Court ruling. The High Court had originally reversed the termination of a CISF officer's employment. With the Supreme Court's endorsement of that ruling, the officer is entitled to recover lost wages.
