First 2026 MLB Players of the Week Have 2 Surprising Things in Common

The first MLB Player of the Week Awards of the 2026 season are out, and the winners in each league have multiple things in common. 

Sal Stewart and Chase DeLauter are both rookies, they both play for MLB teams in Ohio, and we probably will be hearing a lot more from them in the future.

The kids are all right 

Stewart, a 22-year-old right-handed hitting infielder for the Cincinnati Reds, went 7-for-10 with a home run and three doubles as the Reds won two of three games over the Boston Red Sox.
