This Legendary Rock Album Broke a Record in 1980 — And Still Holds It Today

On March 29, 1980, Pink Floyd broke an incredible that remains theirs to this day. Seven years after the release of their blockbuster album The Dark Side of the Moon, they shattered Carole King's longstanding record for the most time any album has spent on the Billboard 200 (via OnThisDay).

King's album, Tapestry, was released in 1971 and spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, breaking records at the time when it reached an incredible 313 consecutive weeks on the Billboard charts.
