Andhra Pradesh seeks Central nod for Amaravati as capital

Andhra Pradesh Assembly passed a resolution urging the Centre to recognize Amaravati as the state's permanent capital. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu moved the resolution. It calls for an amendment to the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014. The state government hopes the Centre will move the required amendment. This will formally seal Amaravati's status as the capital.
