Assam BJP expels nine rebel leaders, six workers

Union Home Minister Amit Shah campaigned in Guwahati with a roadshow. The Bharatiya Janata Party expelled nine leaders for six years for standing against official nominees. Six other workers were removed from primary membership for supporting rebels. This action intensifies the party's campaign for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections. Polling is scheduled for April 9, with counting on May 4.
